WOMEN TO WATCH:

ROSIE NOESI

Meet Rosie Noesi, our December Woman to Watch and the elf making dreams come true on Netflix’s Holiday Home Makeover with Mr. Christmas!

How did you get your start in show business?

I got my start in the entertainment industry while working as a reporter for a NYC church called “The Journey.” I used to really go around New York City asking people questions like “so what does Jesus mean to you”? From there I met a girl who was also a Christian reporter that worked on a tv show called E-asylum that broadcasted on college campuses nationwide. I remember going to the office and meeting the director of the show and him telling me all right so you really wanna be a host? Matthew McConaughey this weekend... he threw me the itinerary and that was my big break and my first A-list celebrity interview! I worked on that show for 6 years. I learned everything about the tv industry from that experience. It was amazing now that I think about it. I spent my 20s going to Los Angeles every weekend interviewing movie stars from the biggest movies I theaters at that time. I remember I used to think to myself oh my God I’m just a little Latin girl with the immigrant parents and I am at the Four Seasons hotel right now in Beverly Hills! Pinch me!

What would you like to see more of in the entertainment industry? Less of?

I would like to see more fun stories of Latin girls lifting each other up. Like “Sex and the City” for Latin girls. I remember watching SATC and loving it so much and thinking why aren’t they any Latin women on the show? New York City is full of a rainbow of Latin culture and people. Maybe we should start a “Sex en el Barrio” show!

How do you build confidence?

You build confidence by following through with your own plans. If you break your own word with yourself you think hey nobody’s going to know if I don’t go to the gym, whatever, it’s not a big deal! What people don’t realize is that it’s actually a self betrayal not to follow through and it chips away at your self trust and self-esteem! If you can’t trust in yourself it makes you low-key feel unworthy. Having integrity, saying you’re going to do something and actually following through, is the biggest self confidence booster out there!

When do you feel most creative?

I feel the most creative in the mornings after I meditate and then do my fasted cardio. When I set myself up to win as soon as I wake up, I already feel so proud that I accomplished that...and then it trickles into feeling unstoppable and capable of achieving anything that I want. Getting up and priming the mind is imperative to actually consciously creating your day versus reacting to your day!

Any advice you’d give to women looking to break into the entertainment business?

Put yourself out there. If you are an actress join Backstage, Actor’s access, and the Agency. It’s way easier to find gigs on your own with these websites. Also, when I started out, I didn’t have the platforms that we have today. There was no YouTube and, when it did start we didn’t even understand what to do with it. When I wanted to put a reel together for myself I had to go get a camera person and have somebody shoot some thing for me and edit it. It took a lot of time and effort...it was a whole big thing. You have everything you need at your fingertips with your iPhones/android phones. Examples for ways to to put yourself out there are you can start a blog or Vlog. You can start a YouTube channel and find your audience. Give them the content that you have to share with the world that is unique to you. We are all unique and have some gift to give to the world find your niche.

First thing that comes to mind!

What do you believe every woman should invest in?
I believe Every woman should invest in a self-healing practice. Even if you think you have nothing to heal we are like onions with many layers...there’s always some thing underneath the layer that we don’t know is there.

What do you think people should spend less time on?
I think people should spend less time on thinking about changing the past, it prohibits you from creating the life you want now because it keeps your energy back there stuck on “What if” island! Come on over to the now(the present moment) and appreciate the past as a learning experience that made you realize what you don’t want in your life. It was just a learning experience and got you to where you are now. I always ask myself, what time is it? It’s Now O’clock!

Current show?
Holiday Home Makeover with Mr. Christmas” streaming on Netflix.

Best song to dance to?
Shakira’s “Girl Like Me” I cannot stop shuffle dancing to it!

Favorite word? Possibility

Wardrobe essential? A fabulous hat

First thing that comes to mind when you hear the word LATINA Resilient

Worst advice you’ve ever gotten?
After many auditions where I didn’t book the “Gig” I got the advice from an ex..”Maybe this hosting and TV thing just isn’t for you. Maybe it’s just time to try something else.“ Thank God I never took that unsolicited advice.
